House Edge

Game of Hope's house edge and why it's needed

A 2% house edge is applied, ensuring fair play and sustainability of the ecosystem.

Since the wining number range is 520-999, the house edge is calculated as follows:

  • Total outcomes: 1,000

  • Winning outcomes: 480

  • Probability of winning: 48%

  • House edge: 50% - 48% = 2%

Why we need a house edge?

Without a house edge, the reward pool would eventually be depleted, making the ecosystem unsustainable. We cannot go lower than a 2% house edge because doing so increases the risk of the pool emptying. With a 1% house edge, users could exploit certain betting strategies and drain the game’s bankroll.

Additionally, the 2% house edge allows us to allocate 1% of each bet (regardless of the outcome) to our staking rewards pool, meaning you can directly benefit when the house wins.
